Editorial policy

The rules every guide and article on foodbuddy.tech has to follow — and what happens when we get something wrong.

What our guides are for

Guides on this site explain how ingredients appear on food labels: which names a substance hides behind, how labeling rules work, and how to use FoodBuddy to explore them. They are educational reading aids for labels — they are not medical content and never give dietary or medical recommendations.

Our rules

  • No invented facts. We do not publish made-up statistics, user counts, testimonials, or endorsements. If a number appears in a guide, it has a source.
  • No safety verdicts. We describe what an ingredient is and how it is labeled — never whether a food is safe for a particular person.
  • No medical advice. Where a topic touches health (allergies, intolerances), we say plainly that decisions belong with the reader and qualified professionals, and every such page carries a visible disclaimer.
  • Sources over opinions. Labeling claims trace to public regulations and recognized references; product data traces to documented, verifiable sources.
  • Clear separation of product and content. Where a guide shows how FoodBuddy handles a topic, that is marked by context — the guide’s factual content stands on its own.

Review and corrections

Guides are reviewed before publication for accuracy against their sources and for compliance with the rules above, and re-checked when regulations or the app change. If you find an error, write to myinfo@insight42.com — substantiated corrections are fixed in the article itself, and materially wrong statements are corrected visibly, not silently.
